Experience

Adeeb regularly advises private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies, other strategic investment firms and other public and private companies on the environmental, health & safety aspects of mergers and acquisitions, financings and other complex transactions, as well as other general corporate matters.

 

He also has extensive experience advising on similar aspects of capital markets transactions for both issuers and financial institutions and on acquisition finance and other credit transactions for borrowers and lenders. His experience spans a broad range of industrial and commercial sectors, including specialty chemicals, commodity chemicals, electrical power generation and transmission, extraction and distribution of oil, gas and other conventional energy sources, development and operation of solar, wind and other alternative/clean energy sources, heavy and light manufacturing, transportation, logistics, healthcare, hospitality and real estate.

 

Among other accolades, Adeeb has been recognized by Chambers as a Band 1 lawyer in the Environment: Mainly Transactional category, by The Legal 500 as a “Hall of Fame” lawyer in the Environmental: Transactional Category and by Best Lawyers® in The Best Lawyers in America® for Environmental Law. He was also selected by Best Lawyers as a “Lawyer of the Year” in New York City for Environmental Law in 2016.

 

Adeeb has taught courses on human rights and the environment and on environmental justice as an Adjunct Professor at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University and has been active in bar association work, including a term as chair of the New York City Bar’s Committee on International Environmental Law from 2009 to 2012.

 

Prior to joining Massumi + Consoli, Adeeb was Co-Head of the Environmental practice at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. He had previously clerked for the late Honorable Robert R. Merhige, Jr., formerly a federal district judge in the Eastern District of Virginia.
