Peter Massumi, P.C.

Peter Massumi is a Founding Partner focused on private equity, mergers and acquisitions and growth equity matters.

Experience

Peter has extensive experience advising private equity firms and their portfolio companies, along with other public and private companies, on a broad range of complex transactions, including platform and add-on acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, carve-outs, strategic mergers, structured growth investments, dispositions, special situations transactions and joint ventures. He also counsels clients on various general corporate and governance matters.

 

At the foundation of Peter’s practice is a commitment to building enduring and meaningful partnerships with his clients, guided by a desire to fuel their long-term success. He is dedicated to delivering the highest standards of excellence and endeavors to provide elegant and business-minded solutions for his clients’ most nuanced challenges. While industry agnostic, Peter has led numerous transactions across all industry verticals, including in the healthcare, industrial, aerospace and defense, energy, consumer products, food and beverage, entertainment/digital media and technology sectors.

 

Among other accolades, Peter has been recognized by The Legal 500 for M&A: Middle-Market, as well as by the Los Angeles Times as both a Legal Visionary and a Banking and Finance Visionary, by the Los Angeles Business Journal as one of the Most Influential Private Equity Advisors in Los Angeles and as a Leader of Influence as a Private Equity Advisor, as well as by Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” in Southern California.

 

Additionally, Peter has served as an adjunct professor of Corporate Finance at the University of Southern California Gould School of Law and as a guest Lecturer in the M&A Transactions course at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law. He has been a regular speaker on private equity and M&A topics at conferences held by the American Investment Council, the leading advocacy and research organization for the private investment industry.

 

He also sits on the Board of Trustees of the Children’s Bureau, an organization that endeavors to protect vulnerable children through prevention, treatment and advocacy, and is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO).

 

Prior to founding Massumi + Consoli, Peter was a Partner at Kirkland & Ellis.
